SUSV Group Tour Options

Self-Guided Tour with Staff Introduction
Price: $7.00 per person
Number: 10-60 people
Time: 30-minute introduction followed by an hour or more of exploration, at the discretion of the group.

Description: Group is assembled in the meeting room of the 1824 Centre House for a 30minute staff led presentation about the history of the South Union Shaker Village. (Video orientation is available for groups of 10-15 that reserve on weekends.) Group tour participants are then free to explore four floors of exhibits in the Centre House and five additional historic village structures on site.

Reservations: Reservations are required to insure group rate and we request payment by one check or credit card. Groups must enter through Visitor Center, where restrooms are accessible, before tour begins.

Mobility Requirement: Moderate / includes walking up and down stairs and over some uneven ground.

 

Guided Tour
Price: $9.00 per person
Number: 10-60 people
Time: 1.5 hours with staff guide.
Group is welcome to stay beyond an hour to explore more of the village on their own. If group numbers more than 30, time is increased to two hours.

Description: Group is assembled in the meeting room of the 1824 Centre House for a 30minute staff led presentation about the history of the South Union Shaker Village. Following the orientation, group tour participants are led on a walking tour of the first and second floors of the Centre House, then to two additional historic village structures on site. After the guided tour is complete, visitors are free to explore the upper levels of the Centre House and other buildings on their own.

Reservations: Reservations are required to insure group rate and we request payment by one check or credit card. Groups much enter through Visitor Center, where restrooms are accessible, before tour begins.

Mobility Requirement: Moderate to Mildly Strenuous / includes walking up and down steps and over uneven terrain. Weather permitting.

 

In-Depth Guided Tour
Price: $15.00 per person
Number: 10-30 people
Time: Two hours with staff guide. Group is welcome to stay beyond two hours to explore more of the village on their own.

Description: Group is assembled in the meeting room of the 1824 Centre House for a 30-minute staff led presentation about the history of the South Union Shaker Village. Following the orientation, group tour participants are led on a walking tour of the first and second floors of the Centre House and may choose from the following:

• Staff-led walking tour of five additional historic village structures on site

• Staff-led presentation and walking tour focused on a specific area of interest, including Shaker furniture, architecture, agriculture, or other topics suggested, if available.

After the guided tour is complete, visitors are free to explore upper levels of the Centre House and additional historic buildings on site on their own.

Reservations: Reservations are required to insure group rate and we request payment by one check or credit card. Groups much enter through Visitor Center, where restrooms are accessible, before tour begins.

Mobility Requirement: Moderate to Mildly Strenuous / includes walking up and down stairs and over uneven terrain. Walking distance approximately one-half mile. Weather permitting.
